Reference

This botanical study of the school grounds was begun in 2001. The trigger for this was the start of planning for development of the grounds: we felt it was important to record what was growing before any work was done.

Since we are very much 'amateur' botanists, we are glad of any help that is offered in identifying plants!

Each individual plant page on this site includes a reference (page number/entry number).

The reference book we are using is 'The Wild Flowers of Britain and Northern Europe', Fitter, Fitter & Blamey, Collins, 1974, and the website is best studied with book in hand.

All the photographs were taken in the school grounds. They will be constantly reviewed and, where possible, improved.
